Being independently run at our Burton on Trent based practice gives us complete freedom of choice of materials, choice of laboratory and choice of equipment so we can provide the highest standards of dentistry. If we were restricted by NHS charges, the choices that we could offer would be severely limited.

 Time

We always allow plenty of time for treating our patients.  We want our patients to feel relaxed and cared for.  We don’t want to carry out treatments at a rushed pace.  We also need time to explain all options clearly. Most dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease can be prevented, so time is also taken to talk about these problems to help our patients help themselves.

Materials

When choosing our materials, we can use what we believe to be the most durable and aesthetic materials, rather than just choosing the cheapest.  For instance, even for a silver filling, there are many options for us to choose from, depending on the amalgam alloy quality.  The cheaper options are more difficult to shape, and may wear sooner.  We always opt for best quality.

Laboratories

When using laboratories to make crowns, bridges, veneers and dentures, there are many to choose from.  There is a great variety in the quality of the work they produce (and consequently the prices vary enormously)! We strive for the highest quality, not just the cheapest option. We choose our laboratories very carefully, and only use laboratories that put the same standards into their work as we do into ours.  For example, most labs have a range of materials that they use to make dentures, and they give us three price options based on quality.  Then there is an NHS option which is significantly cheaper still and doesn’t include all stages usually used to give the best fitting denture possible or the best looking/hardest wearing teeth.  Again, we opt for higher quality.

Equipment

We aren’t just looking to meet minimum standards.  We want to meet highest standards. As a denplan practice, this gives us ‘Excel’ status.  For example when replacing equipment, we have the cheapest options available which would suffice, but we choose equipment which is much more expensive, which enables us to treat our patients to the highest standards.

Accessibility

Due to the nature of our business, many patients may feel anxious.  This is why we put extra importance on our customer service.  We believe communication is key to helping people relax and make informed choices.

We have recently completely redesigned our website, and set up a google + page, Twitter and Facebook page which allows people to access information about treatments or services very easily, and to be able contact us through these methods.

We have recently installed new computerised booking systems to improve any administration errors, and allow us to text and email appointment reminders easily.

Other key points

We strive to offer more appointment availability, and offer an emergency service EVERY day of the year.
We can offer treatment often not available on the NHS such as white fillings on back teeth, white crowns on back teeth, teeth whitening, implants and bridgework.
Affordable Denplan Care plans are available, to incorporate costs of all routine treatments (excluding laboratory bills)
Hygienist appointments may be recommended more regularly if necessary, such as every three months, and incorporated into your care plan.
