A Fast and Effective Replacement for Dentures

First of all, we would like to be clear that dentures have provided many people with replacement teeth over the years. Without them, at one time, the only alternative would have been to have missing teeth; possibly even a full arch. So, in this sense, dentures have certainly had a major role to play in restoring people’s appearance as well as their confidence.

Even though many people have benefitted from dentures, a large number of them will probably admit that it is far from an ideal solution, although better than none at all. For many, dentures have a number of flaws; namely occasional discomfort and insecurity.

Because dentures rest on the gums, they are likely to cause irritation and soreness, especially if they are not an exact fit. They also have a tendency to move around when speaking, causing the wearer to lose confidence during conversations.

Why good dental hygiene is key in the prevention of gingivitis and other gum problems.

Despite the plethora of information widely available on the web and the fact that people now take a greater interest in their health; it is still a widely held belief that dental decay is the major cause of tooth loss.

This may be understandable as many of us will have been told, over the years, that ‘sweets will rot your teeth’, the fact though is that whilst this is true (especially if they are also not looked after) gum disease is, in fact, the leading cause of tooth loss in the UK.

Widespread Gum Disease

It may come as a surprise to know that, at some point in our lives, almost all of us will have gum disease to some extent. If caught early this is readily treatable and should not be cause for panic; however it must not be allowed to advance to a more dangerous and damaging stage.
